OWWA Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship (CMWS)

Many Filipino households struggle to keep up with the rising cost of education, especially when parents are working overseas. To help ease this burden, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) introduced the OWWA Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP).

The CMWSP offers financial support to children of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) so they can pursue college degrees.

In this article, we’ll look into how the program supports OFW families by helping cover tuition, fees, requirements, qualifications, the application process, and allowances—making higher education more attainable for their children.

About OWWA:

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), an agency under the Department of Labor and Employment, is committed to protecting the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their loved ones.

OWWA provides a wide range of services, including social protection, cultural programs, employment assistance, help with remittances, and legal aid.

Originally established in 1977 as the Welfare and Training Fund for Overseas Workers, OWWA has continually served OFWs throughout their journey abroad. Its main office is located at F.B. Harrison Street corner 7th Street in Pasay, near the EDSA Extension in the Philippines.
