About the DOST-SEI JLSS 2025
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is the main government agency in the Philippines responsible for coordinating and promoting scientific and technological advancements across the country. DOST Junior Level Science Scholarship (DOST JLSS) Program
The DOST JLSS Program 2025 provides financial support to third-year college students taking up science and technology-related courses. The goal is to help ensure the country has enough well-trained professionals in the science and tech sectors to drive growth and innovation.
Qualified scholars receive various forms of assistance, including tuition coverage, school fees, monthly allowances, book subsidies, and other educational benefits. The scholarship is available to students enrolled in priority S&T programs at accredited partner schools across the Philippines.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the DOST Science and Technology (S&T) scholarships, you’ll need to meet a few important qualifications:
▶ You must be a natural-born Filipino citizen.
▶ You should currently be a regular second-year college student enrolled in an approved priority S&T course at a recognized university for the Second Semester of the academic year.
▶ Your general weighted average must be at least 83% (or its equivalent), with no failing or conditional grades from your First Year’s First Semester through the Second Year’s First Semester, including any midyear terms if you were enrolled.
▶ You need to be in good health and possess good moral character.
▶ You should have either taken the DOST-SEI Scholarship Exam before but didn’t pass, or qualified for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship but chose not to use the award.
There are also program-specific requirements:
▶ For RA 7687: You must come from a financially disadvantaged but deserving family, meet specific socio-economic standards, and have lived in your municipality for at least four years, as verified by your barangay.
▶ For RA 10612: Only the general eligibility requirements apply—no extra criteria are needed.

8. Official Transcript of Records (TOR) or True Copy of Grades (TCG) or Grade Report:
You’ll need to provide a copy of your academic records—either your Official Transcript of Records (TOR), True Copy of Grades (TCG), or Grade Report. This should show your grades from the first semester of your first year up to the first semester of your second year in college, including any midyear classes if applicable. The document must be signed by either the University Registrar or the Dean of your college.
9. Recent Passport-Size Photo:
Make sure to include a recent color photo that meets these guidelines:
▶ Your face should take up about 80% of the image.
▶ Use a white background.
▶ A handwritten name tag should be placed roughly 1 inch below your chin, showing your full name (First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name, and any suffix like “Jr.”) and signed over your printed name.
▶ The photo must have been taken within the past three months before you submit your application.

10. Parent/s or Legal Guardian’s 2024 Income Documents:
Submit a clear, signed copy of income-related documents like:
▶ Income Tax Return (ITR)
▶ BIR Form 1701
▶ OFW employment contract
▶ BIR Certificate of Tax Exemption
▶ Certificate of Indigency
▶ Certificate of Employment with Compensation
▶ or Proof of pension
Make sure the document clearly states the total annual gross income. The type of document required will depend on your parent’s or guardian’s employment status.

If you’re not living with either of your parents, you must submit a notarized affidavit proving who your guardian is.

Issuance of Test Permit:
The pen-and-paper scholarship exam is set for July 27, 2025.
Qualified applicants will receive their Test Permit via the email address they registered with, sometime in July 2025. The permit will include all the necessary details such as your assigned testing location and session schedule.
Submission of Third-Year Status Certification:
Once you’re enrolled for the First Semester of AY 2025–2026, you must obtain a certification from your university confirming that you’re officially a REGULAR THIRD YEAR student. Alternatively, you may have the Application Form E-1 signed by your university.
Make sure to submit this document to SEI on or before August 22, 2025. Don’t worry—it will also be mentioned again on the exam day to remind you.
Scholarship Qualifiers Announcement:
Applicants who achieve the required score in the exam will be considered for the scholarship.
Successful candidates will receive a Notice of Award via their registered email. This notice will include the schedule for the Orientation on JLSS Policies and the Signing of the Scholarship Agreement.
You can also check the official SEI website at https://sei.dost.gov.ph for the list of qualifiers, expected to be posted around October 2025.
A qualifier and their parent or guardian must attend the Orientation on the S&T Scholarship Policies and sign the Scholarship Agreement to become a DOST-SEI scholar.

The scholarship becomes effective starting the First Semester of AY 2025–2026.
