About AHME Scholarship Program:
The Access to Higher and Modern Education Scholarship Program (AHME-SP), offered by the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), has officially opened its doors for the Academic Year 2025–2026 (6th Cohort). This program supports dedicated students by easing the financial burden of pursuing higher education—especially those aiming to make a difference in the BARMM region.
Qualifications AHME Scholarship:
To be eligible, you’ll need to meet several criteria related to your residency, education, and financial background. Here’s what you should have:
General Eligibility:
▶ Must be an incoming college freshman enrolling in a 4- or 5-year Bachelor’s degree program.
▶ Resident of the BARMM region.
▶ Must choose a course listed under BARMM’s priority programs.
▶ Graduated from Senior High School or completed the Alternative Learning System (ALS).
▶ Not currently receiving any financial aid, grants, or scholarships from government or private institutions.
Must come from a financially disadvantaged background, such as:
• Parents or guardians with a combined annual income of PHP 400,000 or less.
• Orphaned youth.
• Children of solo parents.
• Persons with disabilities (PWDs) or children of PWDs.
• Indigenous Peoples (IP) or children of IP families.
• Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Additional Eligibility Categories:
▶ Combatants or their children.
▶ Orphans and spouses of deceased combatants.
Benefits AHME Scholarship:
Qualified students will receive ₱30,000 per semester, which can help cover tuition, school fees, and other academic-related expenses.

The AHME Scholarship Program offers financial assistance to qualified students from the BARMM region who are pursuing higher education. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you understand the application process, including deadlines, required documents, and important reminders to make sure your application goes smoothly.

⏳ Deadline: May 21, 2025 (by 5:00 PM)
⚠️ Be sure to submit your complete application before the deadline to avoid disqualification.
Requirements AHME Scholarship Program:
Before you apply, gather the necessary documents based on the categories below:
CITIZENSHIP DOCUMENTS
• PSA-issued Birth Certificate (original copy)
• Two (2) pieces of 2×2 ID photos with name tag on white background
• Certificate of Residency issued by your Barangay (must include your name)
ACADEMIC DOCUMENTS
• For SHS graduates: Original or certified true copy of Grade 12 First Semester Form 138 (Report Card)
• For ALS graduates: Valid ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test Passer Certificate
FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS
Submit at least one of the following:
• Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of either parent (if employed)
• BIR-issued Certificate of Tax Exemption along with an affidavit stating low income (if unemployed)
• Certificate of Indigency from the barangay or DSWD/MSSD (for both parents)
• Most recent contract or proof of income (for OFW or seafarer parents)
FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED, DISADVANTAGED, MARGINALIZED, OR LOW-INCOME APPLICANTS
Provide at least one supporting document:
• Solo Parent ID issued by your local Social Welfare Office
• Certification from MIPA–BARMM for Indigenous People (IP) parent/s
• PWD ID issued by your local Social Welfare Office
• Senior Citizen ID of parent/guardian (issued by OSCA)
• Death Certificate of parents or official proof of being an orphan
• Certificate of IDP (Internally Displaced Person) status issued by your Barangay or LGU
FOR COMBATANTS, THEIR CHILDREN, OR SURVIVING FAMILY MEMBERS
You’ll need:
• Certification from MILF or MNLF Peace Mechanism confirming status as a former combatant or as a child/spouse/orphan of one
• You may also submit additional proof such as:
✔ Valid ID
✔ Training Certificate
✔ Other official records proving combatant affiliation

APPLICANT’S RESPONSIBILITIES AFTER SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:

• Be ready to present original documents that match those you submitted online.
QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WHO WILL TAKE THE EXAMINATION:
• Bring the original versions of the documents you submitted.
• If your documents are incomplete, your application won’t be processed.
DISQUALIFICATION OR TERMINATION MAY OCCUR IF YOU:
• Enroll in a program that isn’t recognized or prioritized.
• Don’t maintain a regular academic load.
• Fail to meet the required GWA.
• Drop out or put the scholarship on hold for over a year.
• Transfer programs or schools without approval.
• Submit fake documents.
• Are convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude.
• Are involved in hazing or related activities.
• Don’t finish your degree.
• Refuse to sign the Return of Service agreement.
• Voluntarily give up the scholarship.
• Or violate any other similar rules.
